okay im gonna be installing 35's from 31's now i found a pair of gears on broncograveyard they are '' 7.5" Motive Gear Ring and Pinion, 4.56 ratio'' is that enough??? they cost $156

should be fine, what front axle do you have?? i would save and get a D35 and a 8.8 from an explorer from a junkyard and re gear those and swap them in with the new tires. pointless to regear axles that are going to break soon, especially with 35s.
im not downing the price at all, and if you can afford to do it twice the definatly do it. that would be sweet. gotta post pics though! what tires you getting?

yea i was thinking the same lol dont have that much money  i got four 35''s about 30% tread for 25 dollars.....do you think i could put them on for a while i am not gonna go wheelen for awhile untell i get gears and axle so mostly road for now and im not heavy on the foot MOST of the time :haha:

I have been driving on 35s and 3.73 for the past month or so...haven't really had that much of an issue.

okay another Question what year ranger has a 8.8 rear and is it leafs on top of axle or is it like a explorer??:dunno:

You could just send me the 35"s in trade for my 33"s haha ill even cover shipping!

The desirable rear axle is the explorer one, its stupid simple to swap the spring perches over, and also allows you to set the correct pinion angle. The reason you want the explorer one is because it has 31 spline axles. I did my swap in my driveway on my 87 Bii. All in all maby 6 hours of work, including welding and cutting.

5.13 gears if you're going with 35" tires.
