Well. The title says it all! Beaten ranger! Nice to meet you all by the way. I'm the kind of guy that if he has it, he will use it as what it was made for. It's a ticking 2.9 with exhaust leaks everywhere. It's got a used "rebuilt" (<Lie) motor from an 88 and I already went through the first 5sp tranny. Still owe $400 on the tranny but now when I drive it longer than 40 miles it starts to missfire really badly but the performance does not change. I'll tell all the problems in the right places. I just thought I would introduce my truck as well :annoyed:. Well I'm here to fix HIM! Thats RIGHT! It's a HE. lol Where do you upload your pics btw? 17yo Caucasian Male. OH! Forgot to say! I have no idea of how many miles are on it, and it can't indicate how many miles are on it. The odometer is broken and the tranny/transfer case and the motor have all been changed with used parts, It just runs. I got it for $450 and it's 4wd with manual hubs of coarse. The only original part on the whole truck other than frame and body is the rear axle, the front axle has already been changed but yet someone still managed to not change the cv's while it was easy, they have about 2 inches of play. I only use them to get out of wet grass when not turning the wheel. I also hear/feel thumping noises and vibration while driving but I can let go of the wheel for almost 3/4 mile without having to steer it straight even when I'm on the highway. And most of the time now, when I take off I can hear a loud tick, sometimes it's a snap. It comes from the rear end.

Muhahaha Bondo...

Don't let the body fool you. It fooled me good... It consist of about 300 pounds of bondo! Whoever did it must have played with play dough a lot when they were a kid because it's a perfect job. Half the drivers door is bondo along with the entirtey of the rear panels and the back side of the cab. The entire roof is also bondo. bondo....

OH forgot to add. It also leaks water and the front left tire is always flat in the mornings. The front left brake rotor is cracked all the way through and I'm missing a bolt on the intake??? Anywho. I tried to change the thermostat but there was nothing there? (Clarification: Is it not the big black radiator hose in the last picture coming from the top left of the rad into the valley pan?) So I just put it where it looked good lol. It did stop over heating though??? Anyways the wiring on this thing is crazy as well. A shop manual will leave you with nothing on this motor.

mmmm i have seen worse trucks. I think kips ranger is actually pretty bad, but welcome and I hope "he" feels better soon haha

Looks like you've got alot going on man.

Whats the orange wire going to the fuse box?

The white valve thats inline with the heatercore hose looks odd too

I can't figure out what the wire is. It's red though. It comes from the a wad of wires that comes from around the firewall by the fuse box and goes to the small + on the starter solenoid. The while valve is somewhat of an air bleeder the last owner put in the line. The water pump stopped pumping water and it kept over heating but I flushed the system and put a new thermostat in there (never was one?). It's got one official collapsed lifter.

:icon_cheers: Kips got less dents and better paint. I win with the blown front left strut and the misfires and bad lifters with a twisted bed and bad leaf springs. YAY! I have the most beaten ranger in recorded (Actual proof online thus being recorded) history! :icon_cheers:

um i think i have the worst ranger on here i have a 86 2.3 4x4 that i drive every day but it was roled over lightly but i bought it for 200 dollars and had to put about 500 into to get it on the road runs really good

I think i win with how much money i put into it. $250 for clutch $400 for transmission $100 for fuel pressure regulator and $125 for a windshield. That comes to $875

That body is as smooth as a baby bottom.

Once you have turned it over a few times and Grrrr'ed it on some boulders and trees, then you can be considered for most beat Ranger. You just have a POS Ranger and those are available everywhere leaves fall in the fall.
