After years of spending my all money on Mopar A-Bodies the family is back into the Rangers.
I bought my first one in '89, a red '88 4 cyl 5 spd, had a heater and a radio, $69 per month for 5 years and I loved it.
Drove it out to Colorado and traded it in '94 with 99,000 miles on it for a "Sandlewood" '90 6 cyl auto ext cab. Then had to deal with the kids banging their heads while in the jumper seat so momma got us away from pick ups for a while.
My oldest is now 20 and in college and has a blue '98 XLT Supercab, 4.0 / auto, 2nd engine with 75,000 on rebuild and going strong. My youngest is 16 and getting his license and we just picked up a black '85 XL, 2.8 5 spd, 92,000 original miles from the 63 year old original owner who treated it great. And for just $500! Over time the paint went south so we've already picked up fenders and a hood from the JY and repainted them, still need some odds and ends to make it "hot to drive to school", but it's a fun ride.
I'm sure we'll be looking for help in the future as we do some mods...looks like we found the right place to be. If we can be of any help to anyone looking for parts let us know, we're a 20 minute ride from 5 salvage yards.
