I just installed a new fuel sending unit in the '84 over the weekend.
Fun. ...
Anyway I put a gallon in it to get to the station up the street.
It's $2.53 here in S.E. Iowa, I pumped in $36.00 and enjoyed
watching the gauge rise. It got to just below the 1/2 line. My
math tells me I put in 14.2 gallons and as far as I
know a tank of that vintage is the 23 gal. variety.
Is my new sender screwy ???
Any input would be great, I'm gettin' too old to crawl
under it too many more times !

if i am right, when the needle hits E you still have 1.2 gallons left *so you don't fry the pump* you are closer to accurate on your gauge than most of the b2 community!

hmm couldnt tell you why but my gauge seems a bit screwy too so your not the only one.

mine seems to be good.... 200 km so far and onl half a tank!!! cost me $50 can so hopefully it keeps going this way!

I'm going to do a direct ground from sender
to the frame, figure it's worth a try.
