Here is a Ideal that should be a law!

Should lubes be mandated to only be sold in White containers?

Ban any container that is intended to contain motor oils, and other lubricants in Black containers!

Mandate that all motor oils and lubes be in WHITE containers.

Why? so you can tell if you have dirt in the oil. I can't tell you countless times I've been guessing as to the purity of oil that is in black containers....you can't see anything.

Whereas with white containers, you KNOW it's clean, because you can see the oil and any dirt in a questionable bottle.

Agree, or Agree to disagree?

i agree.my brand comes in white bottles,so it really isn't a problem for me.

First off, the last thing we need are more laws regulating every little bullshit thing.

Second- If you buy good oil, it's going to be fine.

I run API SA in some of my engines (it's like $.75/bottle non-detergent). When I pour it into my drip oilers, there isn't any dirt in it..you can see it in the glass. Put a good oil filter on your truck and it will catch anything that will be a problem.

Two brands I know of already put there motor oil in a white bottle. But happens when you buy motor oil thats purple instead the conventional olive color?

As far as I know. Any container that contains motor oil, just needs to be labeled for what condition it is.

no

why worry about dirt??? valvoline and rotella dont have no dirt in em

no, if your that worried about it, use your finger as a dipstick. and they have those "fresh seal tabs" so you know if its been opened. i would rather have a white bottle, but i dont think it should be a law. i use kitty litter buckets to store my used oil! that way i will never confuse putting it in my engine!

I totally agree.

Sure, and while we're at it, we should mandate that all toilets are brown. That way I won't have to see another man's skid marks when using a public restroom.
