I have a 1985 ranger with a 2.8L. It ran like crap. After some investigating, I replaced the cracked heads. All gaskets new from heads up, and all torqued to spec's. Problem is it smokes worse than a BARROOM. The carb is new...holly 2 bbl with manual choke...recommended replacement part. Carb is jetted with "60", and idle air adjusted with vacuum gague. Valved were adjusted as was the timing. Did a compression test and all cylenders were between 100-120. Is this too low? I cant find recommended spec's for cylinder compression. Anyone know what the cylinders are supposed to hold?? Or any other suggestions???
