Ok so i have the 91 3.0 liter ranger... I was having low power issues And large amount of blue smoke. So I took it that the cat was shot and proceeded to Remove the innards of the cat. Used a hammer and a fence post. I went through them both. Now when i start it, it idles just fine, but with any throttle input it spits and sputters and backfires. NONE of these where prior symptoms. I did however get rid of the blue smoke. What could be the issue?? Could i have busted the O2 sensor when i punched through? Any Ideas are a great help, I bought the truck to drive not work on all the time.. and it has been that way.
