so my buddys alternator on his 2000 exploder. i have a new alternator off my 93. will they bolt up? i need urgent help before i make the hour drive to my dads

Which engine does the 2000 have? I'm looking at Napa's website and it actually does list the same part number as the 93, but that number is only for a certain engine.

The 2000 Explorer was available with the 4.0 OHV AND the 4.0 SOHC and the 5.0 V8.

If the alternator is making a bunch of wracket, then your bearings are problably going out. And they do sell alternator rebuild kits if you have a hard time with other options.
