I have a 88 2.3 and at first the problem I had was when i started the truck it would die immediately, I turn the key over again and it fiered right up. Now its progressed to the point of not starting for about 10 trys; then its all good. Truck drives fine when started, but has stalled twice. Im thinking low pressure fuel pump any advice out there?:shok:

check rail pressure with gauge? Tell us what that reads.

yeah check the fuel pressure because if it runs fine it's probably fuel or maybe condensation in the distrubitor cap?

id look into your fuel filter stopping up/full of water. condensation in the tank adds up over the yrs and sink to the bottom of the tank where your fuel pickup is and fills the filter slowly over time. the more you crank it you pull more of the water out of the filter and tank and into the fuel line by the carb/fuel rail. my truck would do this on occasion simply change the fuel filter and let the line from the engine side pour out, next time you go to crank the truck it will be tough and idle funny til the new filter is full but a good 1/2 mile run and shell clear up.
