I just recently bought a new LED 3rd brake light.
It has cargo lights, which my truck never came with originally, so I have to wire them in myself. I'm gonna try to hook them up to the factory dome light switch, but I don't know if the switch/wiring can handle the extra load. The cargo lights pull about 36 mA of current.
I have a relay to use, but the coil resistance is about 320 ohms at 12V, so that means the relay would pull 36 mA anyway (right?) so I might as well just hook the lights up directly to the switch without it.
