I have a 98 ranger 4x4 ext cab 4.0 with the 5r55e auto, Since I have had the truck the trans has had something wrong with it. When you are driveing it you can puch it down and all it seems to do is slip, Like it is not wanting to shift in to another gear. I have heard it may be something in the eltc' system. When you do punch it you can tell the volt gauge kinda jump a bit.
Does any one know what could be causeing this? I don't want to put a trans int his truck, If I did end up with changeing the trans what kind of job is it to put a 5spd in one of these trucks?
