help with stuck caster bushings

Got one out...I don't have a pinch bolt unless your talking about the top nut

I'm pretty sure my D28 had a pinch bolt.... post a pic or 2 of it.

Checked again and no pinch bolt...hands were too greasy to take a pic...

I have removed a lot of bushings by burning them out. It makes a smokey mess, so make sure you are outside. But once the bushing is out, you just drop it in a bucket to stop the burning. Easy.

these are some kind of cast bronze/steel mixture...couldnt burn them but they do break if you smack them hard enough.

Usually if you pry the pinch bolt clamp open and pound it up it will come out. Sounds like you didn't loosen the pinch bolt, easy enough mistake.

That's the weird part...I don't have pinch bolts...maybe it's a 28 thing?

D35 = Pinch bolt
D28 = No pinch bolt (tapered stud).

'86 = D28

Easiest way (for me) is to completely remove the knuckle and use an air chisel with a flat punch hammer head on it. Works every time.
