I'm assuming they mean cigarette ashes that got rubbed into the leather...

anything can be made to fit, with a standard cab you want to look for seats that are slim in the back, unless you are very short.

1988 Prelude seats in my 1987 ranger. truck originally came with a bench, so I fabricated a new mount out of 1x2 channel and bolted the tracks from the seats to it.

That's encouraging. I really want the mustang seats. But the guy just got back to me to let me know the ash stains are actually small burns.

Holy f'n sh*t, the back seats are the only ones with burns in the fabric. They're mine!

Will I be able to manually adjust the power driver seat until I can run power to it?

I don't think you will be able to adjust them until you run power to them. I would take a car battery and hook it up temporarily and adjust them once you get them mounted in the truck. then you can run permanent power to them at your leisure

definitely not able to adjust power seats manually. go to a junkyard and get the seat pigtail and then jumper that to a battery.

If you are willing to do some fab work, just about any seat from the JY will fit. Might have to modify the rails, or mounting framework. Mustang seats are decent, but look around and you'll see there's a ton of "sport" seats that are manual adjust. Brother in law is building an old Volvo 122 Amazon, and we found a set of black leather seats out of a Hyundai Tiburon in near NEW condition. Half off day at the JY, Total cost $25.

look similar to these but leather:
