Help with Radiator?

I've noticed a leak coming from the fitting on the upper right corner of my radiator and I'm wondering if it's repairable or not. If it is, Is there a gasket / O-Ring available? It's leaking from the big nut / fitting on the radiator itself. I made a very crude red arrow pointing to it. It's leaking at the joint where the big nut meets with the radiator body.

I checked numerous auto parts sites with no luck....Please help if you can.. I'm thinking it might be time for a new radiator.

You could pull it off and put some lock tite thread sealer or Teflon tape on it.

Really? I thought about that but I thought that this fitting was molded into the Rad or
something..I guess not?

Is that a transmission cooler line? If so, you can probably carefully cinch it tighter.

:agree:

You might try to remove the nut and size an o-ring or make a gasket but I don't think it is going to do you any good. Plan ahead and prepare for the truck to be down if you don't have a radiator on hand.

I think the nut is more something to tighten the fittings against so you don't twist up the cooler than to seal anything.

My used Explorer radiator leaked there too (bad though) I tried to tighten the nut and it made difference.

Hmmm maybe you cant remove the nut, i thought i did on my explorer radiator :icon_confused:.

A new radiator couldn't hurt, are you still running the stock single core one? If so, i would upgrade to a 2 core explorer radiator.
