I just bought a truck cap for my 99 ranger off craigs list. It works, it seems to be solid fiberglass, it's great. But i dont have keys to lock the back window. I really want to beable to lock it and keep my tools inside. How can we solve this problem.

The back window has 2 locking T handles on either side. They are labeled "PRM543"
There is a sticker between the cab and back of the cap that reads "AC=64420"
It has sliding glass windows and a roof rack like you would find on a mini van or small suv

Got any idea what make this could be or how i could get new keys/locks for it. I'll set up a link with some pictures a little later, i'm only working with a phone right now

Locksmith or new locks, locksmith would be cheaper I'm sure

Go to a camper sealer and buy a new lockset with keys. It's should be the whole locking handle.

you could just lick it and hope for the best:icon_thumby:

There is a guy on eBay who sells the t-handles w/keys, all different kinds. Best bang for buck. He also has the rubber 'T' rubber for your glass door.

thanks guys.

very little specific help, but anyways...

in maryland, there is a store called trick trucks. they were able to idenify it as an ARE cap and got me a new lock set for 25$

Very little specific?

Where in your original post did you state that it was an ARE truck cap? How specific do you want to get?

I just used a garage door t handle from lowes for mine. same size, black in color, no waiting for it to ship and only cost $8

Hopefully you like it. I absolutely HATE having the cap on my truck but its a necessity for winter because I have no where else to keep shit dry. stupid regular cab. Time to trade up to a bigger truck after tax season.

I've considered one. I just don't think it'll be enough space for a weeks worth of groceries and all the other shit i put in there. Theres plenty of room when I'm flying solo but if the Girlfriend is with me that ties up the passenger seat. And i couldn't have more than one toolbox as i still need the bed space for hauling stuff.
