help with my 94 ranger

[dangerranger4.0-94]

i have a 94 ranger 4.0 with a bad cam sensor. But the part is unavalible near me. does anyone know what years are interchangeable?

Did you lose the sending unit or did it start the squeaking thing my 93 4.0 did that and it's common.I could not find a replacement unit anywhere wound up putting a zirk fitting on the one I had been good ever since.

any pep boys around the nation can overnight it and have it on tuesday and other parts stores can cross refference.

crap....nvm. i was just told that thats a crank sensor

wow. ive researched 4 different vendors and found nothing. this is the best lead i have for possible ford cross reference

i still have it. its throwing a code for the cam sensor and it only acts up when i drive to hard. the only one i can find is for a 95 4.0.

thanks for looking. i spent about 4 days looking for this cam sensor. i found all sorts of pictures and info about the sensor in a 3.0l engine or a 2.3l engine. i found forums about people using a newer sensor in a 95 4.0 but for 94 its an odd ball year. i found it on a website down south from a dealer but im not paying $765 for a sensor when i can go to a parts store and get one for 95 for $240. but thats still a lot of work money and time for something that might not work.
