I am having some issues with my truck. A year ago my tpi module died and was replaced. Ran fine until last friday when it was hotter than hell. I pulled in to park and it died. It would not start until it cooled down. got it started but in ran like crap. Got the truck home. the next day I took it for a blast and it ran fine until it warmed up.It fell on its face again. Put my testor on the test port to see if I had any other codes. I could not get anything other than three 000's. In KOEO, I can hear it click a few times then it does not do anything else. Im pretty sure that my warmup issue is the tpi. I need to figure out why my test port does not work as well. :icon_confused:

Well other than posting this twice and don't know how to delete one, I found the information I was looking for. In the tech section there is a conversion to a maf setup. There is the side of the ecm connector that you can check it from and a little farther down the page, a list of what the pins control. I will first pull the tps so I can have it tested a napa. then I will clean all the grounds. I will take some tarnex and dunk the connectors in it and sand and of steel wool the other connectors. I have found the a large amount of trouble is due to poor grounds. I hope that this will fix my troubles.

I took my tfi module to napa to have them test it. It tested good. How can they tell that it is good when it warms up? I tested the pin 48 to the single input wire and that wire is good. I also tested the other input wire I think it was 17. I jumped in my wife's car and drove to pick and pull. I found an 86 b2 bronco with a 2.9 and automatic trans. I bought the ecm. Im waiting for more shade on the driveway being that it is around 99. I am going to clean all ground connections as well as connectors. I guess I will see what happens when I get it back together. Oh, I can return the ecm for a full refund at pick and pull.

you should be reading 2 digit codes, not 3. might check them manually w/o the scanner. TPS should be tested on the truck w/ an analog meter so you can verify good voltage reference and test it against the ground wire running to the sensor.

The tester that I use has three digits. I am aware that the codes are two digits.

I found out the problem with the test port. I plugged off the egr some time ago. When I did, I disconnected the egr solenoid. The reader could not get past the disconnected solenoid. I am getting it to show codes. Now I put the distributor in 180 off. I will fix that issue then I can do a real test.
