Hi TRS :, I am seeking advice for a 3.0 engine problem. My 2000 ranger has a issue with a #5 cylinder misfire, I have had it to the ford dealership and they played around with it for a day . They replaced the plugs and thought they had it fixed. It lasted about a week and check engine light is on again ,throwing the same code p0305 #5 cyl misfire. What I want to know is could it be the coil not suppling enough spark to that cylinder, and if so why arent other cylinders messing up Thanks in advance for any input:icon_thumby:

#5 misfire

Thanks for the info, I just ran to get a new coil and it seems to run better but only time will tell, besides the 3.0 is the shittiest running engine I know of so its hard to tell if its running good or not:icon_thumby:

You could also be dealing with a bad plug wire/connection.
