Help with 302 5.0 engine

Hi All,

Happy New Year!!!

I have a 1993 Ford Ranger, 2 WD splash, 4 cyl, 5 speed manual trans.

I would like to install a 302 5.0 out of a 1990 mustang with fuel injection.

1. What is the strongest manual transmission that i can install with this engine to fit in my ranger?

2. Will i need to change the computer?

3. Can i keep the original harness from my truck or will i need a the harness from the new engine?

4. Do i need to switch the fuel injection to carburetor?

any recommendations will be appreciated.

i may have more questions in the future.

If you need to pass emissions I would look and see if it is even possible with those pricks. The best would be to compare wiring diagrams and see if you have all the proper wiring. Such as VSS CPS MAF but I would guess getting the computer and harness for the new motor would be easier but you will need to wire all the other stuff up also sending units, switches to/from the chassis.

If he uses the mustang motor/harness, they were the same from 89-93...
