Help wiht a possible 4x4 conversion

Is it possible to convert my 2003 xlt with coil spring front suspension to 4x4? Ive got the truck lowered right now and I was planning on putting a 351 in it that im in the process of building right now with a c4 behind it but I was just wondering how hard it would be to swap a front diff and w/e needed to be changed in the front suspension or if its even possible with my truck's frame. I was originally juss going to make a street/drag truck out of it but an all wheel drive ranger would be alot more fun since we have snow on the ground 4 months out of the year where I live in Missouri........ Thanks for any help/advice anyone can offer.

Probably the easiest way would be to do a solid axle swap. It's going to require welding and custom fabrication, and you'd need to swap in a 4wd transmission, or completely disassemble your current transmission to swap out the appropriate parts.

The other option is swap the entire frame/chassis for a 4wd one.

Yep. We got another 2wd to 4x4 conversion on our hands. I did exactly what u want to do. My 98 with coil springs is now a sas with a dana 30 front. Couldnt be happier. Check out my build thread. I won ototm link is there back in july I believe. I suggest go D44, cuz ur frame is wider than older models and coils will sit better in the buckets. Let me know if u need any help.
