Hi all. Been in the process of about a million repairs, and during this time i've noticed my rear fuel tank leaking. My ranger has the dual tank option. It has a pretty thick skid guard protecting it, but can't for the life of me see any bolts pertaining to it or the tank itself. I've searched for this, but i guess since it was a more rare option there's less info about it.

I'm assuming removing the bed is going to be the answer to this question, and it will be obvious how to drop it? Ha. Just want to confirm before i run the risk of breaking one of these rusted bed bolts and create more of a headache for myself.

Thank you!

According to the book, there should be fasteners holding the skid plate in place, and after that is out there will be straps holding the tank in place. I know on the big trucks, the ones with skid plates, the skid plate holds the back tank in place.

Yep got it out! Two bolts for skid plate, then bent it down and out Of the way and two bolts for tank, some finagling w the filler neck and hoses and it came right out. Thanks!
