OK so i just replaced the clutch fan and the water pump but now it over heats it didnt over heat before. and there is no signs of leaking anywhere.
any suggestions

Yeah you didn't get the radiator FULL... Didja open the heater to high and run her for 10 minutes or more with the radiator cap off? After replacing the coolant pump or other coolant related work you need to assure yourself that the system is completely full.

I start it up cap it and go for a short drive. Then come back or carry a jug with me to top it off.Pita but it always works for me.

either the theromstat is bad or youve got a air bubble in the system you need to burp the system on FLAT level ground with the cap off and have the truck idleing and like said with the heater on full blast and squeeze the upper and lower hoses to help burp the system

I recently replaced the head and intake man. gaskets om my 93 Ford Ranger with a 3.0. I have removed the thermastat and tested the rad. but my truck is still overheating when I drive up hills, it's fine at idle and normal around town flat roads. I could sure use some help. thanks

I think I read that there is NO THERMOSTAT in there. If that is true you have a problem. The coolant can pump 50 or more gallons a minute. That is so fast that the coolant doesn't stay in the radiator long enough to cool. You NEED a thermostat. The 195* is preferred.
When you say it overheats, do you mean it pukes it's guts out? If not then it isn't overheating.
First you must have a thermostat. Then the coolant system MUST be completely full. Then if it pukes coolant out you should be alarmed and start looking for the reason.

still getting hot

First of all I would like to thank you BIG JIM for your quick response.
I put a new thermostat back in and burped the cooling system and my truck is still getting too hot I don't let it get to the point were it puking but close enough to know something is wrong. do you have any ideas on this? could I have miss aliened the valves when I put the heads back on would that cause my problem. the engine is running smooth with no knocking or other bad noise. It is a little shaky at idle but I think that will smooth out with timing light to adjust the timing.

REtarded timing will cause smooth idle and really warm driving. Set the timing CORRECTLY and get back to us. I always make mine puke, to make sure it really is overheating. If it don't puke it could be the gauge telling lies.

found the prob.

Sorry I didn't get back sooner had to leave town for a while on an emergency. While I was gone my father in-law took a look at the truck and found that I have some blow-by not very much but enough to cause it to over heat. So i'm going to do a compression check to see where its coming from. Thanks for all your help, hope to talk to you again!!!
