Finally was able to pull codes on a 90 2.3 4x2 5spd,

21 - Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor out of range - ECT
24 - Intake Air Temperature (IAT) or Vane Air Temperature (VAT) sensor out of range - IAT VAT

xxxxx

33 - egr did not open
41 - system lean - fuel control
87 - O) Fuel pump circuit fault (check inertia switch) - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits
95 - (O) Fuel pump: open, bad ground or always on - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits

I've tried resetting the inertia switch, it doesn't depress or move anyway, so i'll assume it's not tripped.

21 - can't turn the truck over, so performed check cold. ignoring
24 - same as 21 i believe, unless someone can tell me different.

33 - I can assume means i need to clean/replace the EGR,
41 - as a result of it failing to run?, or a result of 33/87/95? or would it more likely be the o2 sensor failing vs doing its job. i can hear a small exhaust leak, not sure if its pre or post o2s.

87 & 95 - Maybe a little help, it tries to start, gets a lack of fuel and can't stay running, seems to get a little pressure, i'm renting a pressure tester from the local LAPS.

would a completely failed EGR prevent the truck from starting?

Thanks for all your help already guys, its much appreciated!

Bypassed inertia sensor, small change, seemed like it tried harder to start buts till just couldn't fire up, it did ignite a bit, but not enough to hold an idle or start,

also,

are my relays located under my engine fuse panel?

Ignore the EGR codes for the moment. The EGR valve is operated by vacuum, and the sensor looks for changes in pressure on the EGR tube. If it tried running the EGR test with the engine off the valve won't open and the pressure won't change without exhaust flowing.

I would find the fuel pump relay (I think 91 had the relays under the fuses) and put a jumper in place of the relay, see if it starts up then.

Excellent, I will do that, thanks for all the advice on my multiple posts, you've helped tremendously

Jumped it, nothing. Gonna put a new pump in.

Do you have power at the relay? Do you have power at the connector at the pump?

Power at the relay, power at the pump, it sounds like a something out of silent hill, lol.

I'm going to grab the pump tomorrow, pull the bed, check the connectors, and install if the connectors test good, otherwise I'll repair as needed, check again and install the pump if it fails. Either way, my dad, my roomies and I can muscle the bed off, I've been soaking the 6 bolts from top and 5 I can hit from the bottom with p-lube for the past 5 days. I've got a propane torch if needed, but the bed bolts look to be fairly rust free.

Ok, pump swapped, runs, decently, cleared codes, still throwing 33 &41 at me, egr need cleaning/ replacing? Would that also give a 41?
