Help!!!! T-case pump problems

OK,

So I am working on my T-case (BW 1354). It made a clunking noise when turning it by hand, also has some bearing that went out. Tore it apart to find that the pump tab that is supposed to keep the pump from turning wore down, and wore a groove in the side of the T-case. SO, thinking that I'm going to get a new pump ($58) and get the side of the case welded up ($90). Any suggestions on a upgrade to prevent this unfortunate problem from happening again. Are there any upgrades on the market out there that address this problem???

UPDATE: I ended getting the T-Case welded at the place that did rebuilt my tranny. Total cost = FREE!! So much for the $90 B.S. Now just waiting for the parts that I ordered...

There is .25" slop on all those cases.... it doesn't hurt anything as long as it keeps the pump from rotating with the shaft....
