HELP !!!! swapin (02)2.3 in to (96) HELP

Hi you guys I a newbi in need i have a 96 4 cil. manual non runner and i have a 2002 4 cil 60000 miles manual out of a ranger got all wiring and compu now wath?

that's a handful as the engines are COMPLETELY different, including transmissions... if you took enough notes and stuff it should be doable but it's not going to be a direct bolt in... the newest ranger I've worked on is a '94 so I'm not the most helpful on the wiring on anything newer than that

you should start by selling the motor from the 2002 and buying something 2000 or earlier and save yourself a major headache.

something hapen today got a (96) 2.3 32000 miles complete for $250 bucks i will save the 02 for the next project .

that's a LOT easier swap... just unplug all wires from the one in the truck, pull it out and drop the new one in and reconnect the wires...

That is not a drop in change,issue with the crank sensor,cam sensor, intake manifold and alternator brackets.

he's swapping a 96 for a 96. i don't see where he's going to have any problems...
