So I'm new here. Quick introduction, my whole family has a bunch of rangers so I will be staying here for a bit. This truck was crashed by the previous owner, and then I crashed it with the median. Had to straighten the frame in like 3 different directions or something. So the suspension has always been bumpy. The freeways here in Cali have like these small bumps where pieces are merged together, and whenever I go over them the truck has always shook. So when I crashed, I actually went over one of these bumps, then my tires lost traction (raining too) and I crashed.
So now the truck is running fine, still rides bumpy like before. However, I noticed that when I try to make tight turns (as to park) the tires hit the mud flaps. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the shock on the right side is actually loose. Not sure if it is b/c of the crash or before. You can literally shake it back and forth within the hole, and it appears as if the nut is an inch too high. I was wondering if it was a simple fix such as tightening the nut down or do I need new suspension. The suspension is rough, so I would like to upgrade it eventually. Side note: Running torsion bars. And I'm looking into the 6.0 camburg 2wd upgrade.
The white piece is loose. And I think my tires hit the mud flap thing, and it didn't do that before. Other than that, it rides fine.
This is the other side. It looks different. The loose side has another 'a-arm'? on top of the other and is loose.
Can a simple tightening fix it? Or is it worse? For the rough suspension what do I do?
