We bought a 1987 Ranger /2.9/ F.I./V6 Manual 4-wheeldrive for my son. The darn thin dies everytime aftr ideling for 9 to 19 minutes. The dash board lights say"emmisions" and the computer tester came up the EGR selonoid. We replaced that and also the Egr position sensor (map sensor) and everything else we could think of and it is still doing it. If it helps, after approx. 2-3 min. of ideling the R.P.M. gauge goes down to reading 0, and even if you rev the motor it still reads 0. PLEASE if you have had any experience in this problem and can lend any assitance it would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you -DESPERATE in Walden Colorado!!-Karen
