help starter problem

i have a 87 ranger 2.9 5spd the starter is hiting the flywheel hard i got a new flywheel and starter 4 it and it does the same thing.. if anyone has any idea what it is plz let me know thanks

what exactly do you mean by saying the fly wheel is hitting the starter? you mean while driving you can hear it grinding?
did it just start doing it or did you get the truck like this?
 
You mean that the teeth are grinding? The starter could also just be a bad one. Sometimes when starters are bad they sound like they are grinding and it could not be fully engaging which could cause grinding also. If your sure you have the right flywheel and starter get the starter checked... take it to napa or an auto parts store and have them put some electricity to it and listen. that's what I would do.
 
My ranger did the same thing when I went to start it it would grind real bad first check ur.starter and see if it has 9 teeth on the gear if it does take it and put a 10th toot bendix on it.I did that to mine and its started perfect ever since
