hey everyone, new here to the forum. i have a 2007 ranger fx4 and can honestly ay it has been the worst vehicle ive ever owned, i left chevy to come to this truck because i loved it but it has been nothing but problems(been back for warranty at least once a week since buying it 4 months ago for 14 grand) im supposed to leave for north sledding on friday and this truck has already broken down and left me unable to go twice and im not letting it happen again, suddenly my truck seems to have no power, and an extremely low idle-it doesnt die but its getting worse and worse, if im at a stop light and dont put it in nutral it will shake the whole truck and while backing up with my trailer its so much drain it slips down to 200rpm and the verge of dying, does anyone know what this might be? i checked out all my wires and fluids and stuff, but i dont know where else to go and im in a bit of a hurry to figure it out! any ideas? now that being said it has had timing chain issues, and am currently fighting with the dealership as they only replaced one of the chains/ cradles/ tensioners and im positive it needs both. could this be a cause or is it more likely just a fuel pump or something(fuel pumps been weirdly loud since i bought it) any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Had two different problems like this with my '94: First was only after engine got hot, which turned out to be an intake vacuum leak. Replacing the intake gaskets solved the problem (the truck ran great when cold). The second problem came on a year later and only when the engine got wet, as when driving in a pouring rain. This was diagnosed as a shorting spark control module. neither issue showed up in the codes, and the symptoms: very rough, idle dropping to below 300 RPMS, no power, were identical. Good luck.
