suddenly my 4.0 lost power?
the motor loses power at about 3k rpm?
It acts like no fuel beyond that point? It was running fine and all of a sudden, no power?
I installed magnaflow exhaust..and she ran wonderful for 2 days, and suddenly
the dead spot after 3k rpm?
could it be a sensor problem due to the new exhaust?
It is a 4.0 in a 2008 4x4 ranger.
At this point I dont have a clue what is going on.
I could sure use some help on fiqureing this out.
Thanks in advance

Check your cat. Could be clogged. Shouldn't be given the year, but a clogged cat will cause it to bog at anything over a moderate RPM.

Fuel pump could be bad too.

The MAF is the sensor that normally bails on you at 3k rom range, if you hold it does power kick back in after 3500?

Ok
I found out that the engine has a rev limiter at 3000 rpm.
It only bogs in park in revving up. The computer cuts power to the coil at 3000.
going down the road she runs fine. Guess I was concerned about nothing.
I never had a vehicle with a rev limiter.
At any rate...the 4.0 is running stong with the new magnaflow setup.

Yeah, them pesky engine protecting rev limiters...

Glad it's nothing wrong with the truck.
