help no brake lights

today i noticed my brakelights are not working. i replaced the bulbs and brake switch and still no brake lights. the blinkers and rear lights work when i turn the lights on but still no brake lights. anyone know what i could be??

yeah, actually I had this problem and it was with brake lights also. Look right back under the rear bumper where the wires come down from the wiring harness and there is a place where you can make a connection for trailer lights by unplugging the two connectors from each other. What will happen is that the wires will vibrate over time and snap right in front of one or the other connector. I had to butt connect the wire and my brakes worked fine. Of course, before that I replaced the brake switch on the brake pedal and read the Chilton's manual for two days before a real mech told me what to look for. Saved me lots of time hunting for the problem. He said that normally he finds this kind of problem within an inch of a factory connector. So look next at those first and then look elsewhere. Butt connectors are cheap. Maybe that will help.

Look for cracks in the wiring going to the switch also. They can be broken through the wire but still held together by the insulation. You can get a repair connector/pigtail to fix it if that is the case.

i never figured out my brake lights problem but i did notice that when you turn the lights on in the truck then the brake likes work perfectly. its a bit of a pain turning them on and off but i guess its something ill have to get used to.
