Hey Charlie,
Welcome to TRS...
This area will work...if not one of the Forum Staffers will move it for you.
So what is the problem?
Does 4x4 engage or is it just the dash lights are flashing?

Let us know.

I moved this over to the transfer case forum.

Look in the Tech Library... there are diagnostic procedures there for the systen.

I had a 97 expedition do this when the dash switch went bad

So it engages but immediately kicks out sometimes it'll stay in 4h but will not go into 4l I'm wondering if I didn't install the motor right

Which switch was it if you can remember I'm thinking it's a combination of cold weather trash exhaust and residual antifreeze in the exhaust well I'm praying that's what it is I'm going to change the plugs and see if that helps with the slight miss
