Local country store has two soda machines. One machine has 20oz bottles, the other has 12oz cans. The prices are $1.50 for a bottle, or $.75 for a can.

The bottle machine is a pespi machine, the canned sodas are Coca-cola brands.

You obviously get MORE soda for the SAME amount of money(two cans= more than one bottle), WITH recyling returns with the aluminum can.

So unless your a Mt. Dew addict, a wise shopper would always get the two cans of Mellow Yellow, instead of the bottle of Mt. Dew.

:c-n:

I'd buy the cans anyways, coke is way better than pepsi!

I just get 32 oz. of Coke or Pepsi products for $0.85 at the local Circle K.

I love to fry on Diet Pepsi when I'm doing an auto mechanics project! My liver is prolly worse than an alcoholics........

Anyone else agree that canned pop of the exact same brand always tastes better than their bottled counterpart? Something about a nice cold can of pop has a crisp taste to it that a plastic bottled one doesnt. Even when cold, the bottle tastes more... flat

I Know that is true with the old time glass bottles, the glass bottles don't absorb the flavor like alumium and plastic does. What is different is that a glass bottle doesn't impart any taste to the soda, while an aluminum can loses molecules of aluminum into the (caustic) soda before you drink it.

Basically you are drinking a mixture of soda and aluminum. You may also notice a taste difference from soda stored in a plastic bottle as the plastic used for soda bottles is also not immune to the effects of the acid in the soda. (Guess what the acid is doing to the lining of your stomach?)

What happened to refillable glass bottles?

Its simple- coke is better, since they make a better product they sell more and do not have to charge more.

Or it could be that the soda machine that the 20oz are in cost more, or that 20ozs bottles are able to be sealed after opening.

get the cans and refill the bottle. I have 6 1 liter bottle I refill from 2 liter bottles. save me a little better than $6 a day

Usually around here you can buy a 2 liter between $.99 and $1.29, 20 ozs are $1.35 and up. Yet everybody buys the 20 ozs. It is just a convenience thing. I buy 2 liters.
Coke makes me sick, Physically!
