So had my old battery take a poop on me the outher day, and got a brand new cat battery from work for free(the best price!!). BUT, its to tall to fit under my hood. SOOOOOO I eather need to move it to the bed(in my tool box in a battery box) or some how make some room under the hood.

Biggest quston is what size wire do I need to move it? I dont mind paying a bit to do this as I can allways have free battery replacment from my work.

Or could I cut my battery tray out and lower it? I need about 2-3" for this to work right.

Moving it 4-6 feet from where it is now, I'd use the next size larger wire gauge. You'll get a little bit more resistance with the longer wires, so use a larger size to reduce the resistance. It will make the largest amount of difference when using the starter; the starter draws a whole lot of power.

To move your battery tray down 2-3" will probably not be simple. Get out your flashlight and see what kind of space you have to work with, beneath the existing tray. You'll definitely have to fabricate or re-weld something, but moving the tray is a better solution than running a remote battery.
