Bought a B2 that had a busted transmission shaft that I had never heard run. Trans was already removed..... figured it was running when the trans blew soo...
Was the FM146, so I removed the bellhousing, and just bolted it back onto the 2.9. Installed the starter as well, and the 3/8 bolt for the wire...
No start with key
Moved the clutch switch on the pedal.... no start with key
Jumped the solenoid....no start... no turn over
Hooked jumper cables to ground and start wire for starter... no turn over...no start.
Tapped starter with hammer.... same results.
Any ideas?
Only idea I can think of is to pull the starter back out and see if it's any good when hooked directly to jumper cables.
FWIW, I only want to start it to see if it will.... I plan to swap a complete underhood from a 94 Ranger 4.0 in anyway.
