Just finished working on my 2005 Ranger. I put a new battery in it and changed out the water outlet and thermostat. Then I ran water with a hose inbetween The motor and The intake to clean off The antifreeze. The next day when driving it to work the truck felt like it was slipping on an oil spot in the road and regaining traction. It would do this a few times when accelerating. The next day after that it was bogging down when accelerating. After a couple seconds with the pedal to the floor it would stop bogging and you'd get full acceleration. I got home and the truck would almost die when tapping the gas pedal. Not so much fun with a stickshift. I plugged it in and it popped a whopping five codes! I've never had that happen before. These are the codes:

P0172 system too rich bank 1

P0175 system too rich bank 2

P0102 Mass or volume air flow circuit low input

P2196 02 sensor signal stuck rich bank 1 sensor 1

P2198 02 sensor signal stuck rich bank 2 sensor 1

I'm at a loss guys. Could some of my connections be messed up? Could my 02's and my MASS be bad? Any help is appreciated.

Clean your maf sensor and the conection.

check your air filter condition also

I would also look at the physical connectors to several of the senors around the the fuel rail.

As these vehicles are getting old the seal on the connectors could be shrinking due to age. It is possible that contaminants have gotten into the fuel rail components and they are not functioning as intended which is causing the other systems to try an compensate. Aka Rich running, O2 having to work harder.

The MAF sensor could have been damage while performing the work when removing the air tube. Or shorted due to containment in the water from splash back.

These are just my opinions based on how much electrical and computer shenanigans that are in these vehicles.

Unplug the MAF(I know, hillbilly DXing [emoji38]) and if it runs better I would suspect the MAF

While the maf sensor is plugged in. Tap on the top of it with the handle of a screwdriver. Normally the engine will stumble or run better for a second or so. If it does then it is definitely bad.
