So I installed a new touchscreen head unit the other day, when I realized the interior light and my speedo weren't working anymore. What would be my course of action in this situation? I drilled a hole through the floor I hope I didn't drill through any wires, that would be a mess because it's insulated and a rubber material.

I see two possible scenarios;

1. You did drill through some wires or

2. You may have blown a fuse for the interior lights, and the factory radio may have had a speed sensitive volume feature on it, and that wire is laying around in trouble now, or you hooked it to the wrong spot and it pulled that circuit down.

I’d start by checking the fuses. Strange as it may seem, I have popped fuses changing the radio before. Not always, but it’s happened

Also may have knocked a connector loose somewhere.

In a 2002 Ranger the GEM module is just to the left of the radio, it does "Door Open" dome light, and Door ajar light, is door ajar light working?

In 2002 speedometer gets it signal from computer so I doubt that signal is the issue
But speedometer does need 12volts, fuse 11 or fuse 26 in Cab fuse box

Most vehicles have full time power wires in the dash, radio for sure does to keep Clock correct and pre-sets in memory, so always a good ideal to disconnect one battery cable when doing any work on a vehicle, even it its not wiring related

Yes, the door ajar light is working. I'll check for fuses the next time I have the thing. Thank you everyone for your suggestions!
