Ok. Sweet. Thanks. So when I go order parts for this motor do I just say it's a 302 or do I say 91 thunderbird? And an 87 crank? Is that good?

Its F1SE BB.

Its just a post 1991 302 block thats all.

My 91 mustang had the same block and crank.

Beware the rods in the 90's 5.0's. They're not what they used to be. Ford changed something in the rods and dropped the old C8OE forging. Seen two of these with broken rods in stock applications.

alright cool. thanks guys. im not too worried about a broken rods cause im not makin this engine over the top high horsepower. just reliable with a lil umpf/. edelbrock intake, carb, msd, and roller rockers. its already a roller motor so it should be pretty reliable. i hope.

Ok. So I've hit another littleroad block. I want this to be a carb motor. Since it's out of a 91 thunderbird and obviosly been rebuilt, what edelbrock performer intake part number do I order. So far it looks like I just need to know whether or not my intake needs egr or not

How do I figure that out. I know egr comes out of the heads and into the intake usually from a tube out of the back of the heads. But there is no hole back there for that. Then I know some egr uses the exhaust crossover for the egr, would that mean just using the regular non-egr intake?

Help!!!! Thanks

Well if your town doesnt have any emissions just order the one with out all that egr bs

Ok. Well I ordered a bunch of parts today, performed intake. Holley 600 cfm carb. Timing chain. Gasket set. Electric fuel pump.

I chose the non egr intake and am just gonna have to get an illegal smog. Oops.

Still to go. Radiator, tranny cooler. Mufflers. Exhaust piping. Headers. Oil filter relocator. Motor mounts. Electric fan. And some more shit I'm sure

sounds goood. Oh, don't let anybody talk you into ordering a kitchen sink(i got one on ebay, but i caint tell any diference in performance:icon_rofl:)

What you are describing isn't the EGR system. That's the Thermactor air injection system plumbing. The EGR either draws from the right side exhaust manifold or the cross over passage in the middle of each head that passes thru the center of the intake.

K. Well like I said. I just went with the old style edelbrock performed intake

Door gunner, WTF is a kitchen sink?
