HELP! I hope this is in the right spot...SENSOR LOCATION PLEASE

I have purchased a reman 2.9 for my `87 Ranger. I took everything off old engine to clean and/or paint, but now I have a sensor that I don`t know where it goes. Part # E8TF 12A699 A2A. Looks like maybe a temp sensor, but there is the gauge sensor on the intake. I am almost ready to set it in. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!

87 have a knock sensor? i dont know but my 86 dont, and had a 95 stang with a 5.0 that did not.

I didn't think it did either but when I saw his part number the 12A699 just felt to me like it's a knock sensor.
