I am trying to lift my Ford ranger about 4 inches but I don’t know where to start at all

There are a lot of ways to do it. Try reading some if the suspension articles here.

Welcome to the club.

Some strong friends ;)

Back is (relatively) easy, swap springs for what you want and longer shocks. Front gets a tad more complicated with twin i-beam (2wd) or twin traction beam (4wd)........ if you want to go 4 inches in the front, now you're talking about replacing springs, radius arms, and likely messing with steering linkage, plus shocks, at a minimum.

Mike,

Rough Country 4" for $499 with Free shipping and a $40 off code.

These guys even offer a payment plan 😲

Not bad. Looks like they use drop brackets for the front. Can't see in the image, rear springs or just lift blocks?

Looks like a dropped pitman arm for the steering so check that off the list.......

My recommendation for a '94 would be 3" body lift, Belltech shackles, and 1/2" - 3/4" spacers under the coil springs. Unless you have a reason to do a suspension lift.

To do it “right” without any major custom fabrication work, the skyjacker kit worked pretty well for me. The 4/6 inch kit with leafs, shocks, and new radius arms will cost about 3000 dollars.

I’ve heard the duff kits are great as well.

I feel like I got my money’s worth.

Mine is a 94’. I would go ahead and recommend getting the six inch kit. I’m already looking to replace my four inch coil springs with six inch coil springs.
