Hi all. I appreciate any insight you can offer.

Have an 03 ranger 4.0 with 175k. manual. I've noticed this noise getting progressively worse.

It shows up most noticeably when letting off the gas in gear, or rather, when the engine is braking. If I engage the clutch it's present but not nearly as much.

It's sort of a womp womp sound consistent with speed and rpm. The video may not translate it well but it's very loud inside the cab. It is not wheel related. On a long coast in neutral it's not present.

I'm thinking differential. Any thoughts. And thank you.
