HELP!!! Charging System Trouble

no gauges are working but i believe it is a swap issue the dash is still 84 so its a whole different ball of wax. Thanks everyone for the help couldn't have done it without you'll.

Using your previous battery voltage it goes like this
Battery voltage 12.78
noload voltage engine at 1500 rpms no more than 15,28 volts or 2.5v
load voltage engine at 2000 rpms no less than 13.28 volts .5v
It is safe to run within those limits

There is a 8 wire connector grey where the old computer harness plugged in. There should be two wires with about 8 pulsing volts those go to the oil pressure and water temp. The senders on your motor may just work. What you do is find the sender wires and short them to ground. the guage it controls will read hot or high hook them up to coresponding senders on the motor and see what happens. red/wht coolant and white/red oil. It may not be accurate but you can put the senders off a 84 2.8 and make it real close.

dude youve been a great help. any chance you know where on the 94 loom to find the wires to the sending units?

I would think they were close to the senders if not just run some wires separate inside the shielding of the loop. I take it you found the guage wires?

There are a few things to look at when checking someone elses wiring. Solder and schrink wrap all splices. Are all of the battery pos wires fused or have a fusable link at the battery? put all wires in a shilding tube and wire tie to something solid away from the exhaust manifolds especially. Go back over everything if it dont smell right it aint.

i did find the gauge wires but they aren't working correctly so it may be a sending unit issue. this whole truck is a mice nest of wiring but i'm getting it worked through. one again everyone has been such a great help. I am very happy to return back to the ranger/broncoII family. And love this site.
