Help!!!! Broke Truck Today :(

alright so i was offroading in my '00 ranger 4x4 today and got stuck, Tried to get out. I tried four low, and four high, neither of them did any thing, i stuffed shit under my tires (small rocks, twigs, weeds, etc) to try to get some traction. I got a pretty good rocking motion going on as i went to rock it forward i got a somewhat loud "bang" and no power to any of the wheels, I heard what seemed to be a drive shaft spinning completely. Got some one to pull me out. I still have reverse and 1st and 2nd. D wants work but i have to start it off in 2nd and then switch to D. When in D i gave it a little bit more gas and it popped out leaving me with noe power to the wheels. What the hell could this be? did i tear some teeth of gears or what? need help quick as this is my daily driver. im 18 and still live my parents.

I'm no expert, but I would say that tranny is toast. Can you get any gears now?

yea auto, i still have 2nd and 1st gear

ill get some speed up in 2nd then switch it to "D" and it drives fine. but if i give it to much gas than it pops back out

It's probably toast, rocking like that will eventually overheat the transmission. Its also possible you got some crap inside the tranny, that has been known to happen.

You just broke the O/D one way clutch in the trans.

i do rememeber the o/d light blinking, but didnt think anything of it. Hopefully I wont have to replace the entire trans.

i did clean it pretty well. Since im a volunteer firefighter i used an 1 3/4 handline to it then a pressure washer and garden hose. so maybe that cleaned some of the shit out. so if i turn my o/d off will that make it drivable?
