Help - At A Dead End ?????

My 02 Ranger XLT 4.0 4wd just stopped working - no flashing lights - nothing
lights on dash still come on when started but no 4wd
What I have done

Replaced motor ( rebuilt )
Replaced 4x4 control module ( right kick panel ) Junkyard
Replaced GEM module ( behind dash on left ) junkyard
Replaced dashboard switch
Checked all wiring - all checked out fine

4wd drive will engage fine from the xfer case into 4h or 4lo by turning it with the motor off
4wd drive will engage with the motor on and 12v supplied to the pigtail of motor.

Now, the 4x4 module clicks when it is engaged but does not engage the motor.

Is there something that ford has to do on the computer to allow these things to start working together

Tried disconnect the battery and waited and restarted to allow computer to 'learn' new equipment - no change.

Please help - I do NOT want to go to dealer unless necessary.

The sad part is, if you had a manual t-case to swap in, doing the swap would be way less work than all the things you have tried to get yours working properly.

Built Ford Tough? Not in this "case".....
