Hello I got a 98 ford ranger 4.0 5 speed I need to pull the motor to replace the oil pan gasket so I figured when it's out I would replace the clutch too. My only question is what's the easiest way to pull the motor. I got a engine hoist or power Tra to get it out. I just wanna get this engine out as fast a possible only have 3 days to get it done. Any tips would be awesome. Thanks!

Remove hood
Remove accessories and brackets, i.e. fan and fan clutch, alternator, P/S, A/C, ect...
Remove rad, only 2 bolts so easy to remove and move out of harms way
Remove upper intake and valve covers, put tape over intake holes :)
Disconnect exhaust manifolds
Remove Cam synchronizer, put crank at #1 TDC compression stroke and mark synchro for easier reinstall, this sticks up at the back of the engine and could get damaged if things move/slip.
Remove ground strap on the back of drivers side head, don't forget to hook this back up, it is the main ground for the cab electrics
Attach straps/chains for lifting, if they hit rocker assembly then remove it, better safe than sorry.

Disconnect reverse lights and transfer case wiring
Remove shifter, starter motor, front and rear drive shafts and trans support.
Unbolt trans and slide it down and out
Take some weight off frame by raising engine a bit with hoist
remove motor mounts
Raise engine watching for wires that were forgotten or are caught
Frame/body will come up quite a bit without the weight of the engine, so have an extra jack handy and some blocks, if hoist can't raise engine enough to get it out, jack up front and remove tires, lower front end down so engine can be pulled out
