Hello to you all...great to be back into a Ranger again....(owned an 86 way back in the early to mid 90's )..lol..:yahoo: found this one about three miles from my home... three hundred later.....and it has a good home....1997 XLT 2.3 5spd regular cab 2wd shortbox Cayman Green. Slowly gettin all the bugs worked out from sitting almost a year. New windshield, cleaning the idle control valve, drain, and clean the fuel tank, spring shackles.....the usual things a previous owner left go... But I have one question....what tire size can I use on this ranger? I have the 7.5 with 3.73 gears. The door sticker says 225/70/14.Any tire shop says it should have 195/70/14 on it from the factory.I found out the 225/70 tires aren't cheap!!!...lol...What about 15 inch? I have the "Hoof print" style factory alloys on it now.. Thanks!!:icon_thumby:

I`m running 215 75R 15 with my 2.8 and 3.73 carrier. If you go to 15 inch tires you will probably need to put in 4.10 ring and pinion or you will have issues pulling a long hill with a 2.3. You will definately need a different speedo gear to get the speedometer close.
