Hello,
I just got myself a 1984 Ranger 2wd with a 2.0L and 4 speed manual transmission.

I only gave $100 for it, but the engine has a bad knock but the body is very very straight and almost completly rust free ( no rust through on the bed, tailgate, or cab corners, you know where these thing usually rust through!) The floor of the bed is even in really good shape.

So I have pretty much decided on droping either a 289 or 302 into it. I am a little old school I like the 289's better than the 302's.

I will probely go with an automatic tranny like the C-4 but I sure wouldn't mind putting a 4 or 5 speed manual behind it though. I just not sure what kind of a mess it would be though to do that.

Welcome !! , sounds like a great deal to me , if u look around i paid $ 400 for my hunk , but it works just fine , will be watching this one hope to se whats comes out of it, besides motor and tranny , any other plans??

Not sure what else I want to do. My wife wants to make something of a street rod.
So there will probely be some dress up to the body and interior.
