Hello all, so glad I finally purchased a Ranger and now happy to be a new member of this rockin site! Just recently purchased an 88 Ranger regular cab 4x4 for $350. Drove it home too, lol. So far I have cut the fenders, added 36" tires on 15x8 alloys (well three, and one steelie, but all free, lol). No lift so I can maintain a low center of gravity. Ive had it for about 3 weeks now, only went out once, and managed to blow out the rear diff (stock 7.5 with 3.73's) and blow out the stock auto hubs. I intended to see what would break, lol. So now I have converted to manual hubs ($40 total swap cost from wreckin yard) and will be swapping in an Explorer 8.8 rear. I am also fabricating a set of scissor shackles for the rear leafs and custom made extended control arms for the front. Also working on converting the AC pump to an on board air compressor and adding a high amp alternator to have an on board welder too. All DIY stuff and practically free, lol. Anyways, Ive worked on and modified loads of vehicles all on a beers budget and have always wanted a Ranger. Im stoked and plan in keeping this thing for a long long time. She's not pretty, but thats just perfect to me. The 2.9 sounds and runs awsome, has a new clutch in it, the 5spd shifts great and the electric shift transfer works great too! I just plan on building, wheelin, breakung and then building again (building is half the fun) I guess untill it wont break anymore, lol. Anyways, glad to be a part of the group and the site!

Welcome! Nice to hear there is another Oregonian on here!

post up some pics! Also I would suggest swapping in at least a dana 35

Cool to see some other local OR folks. I would love to post some pics, although not exactly sure how, lmao. Ill figure it out. I suppose if I can rebuild cars and fabricate parts, I can figure out how to get pics up. Anyways regarding a Dana 35 front swap, I'm sure thats in the very near future. I just have to break the one I have first, lol. I like seeing what the limits of things are. Back to the picture bit, any advice or hints on posting pics would be sweet. I'll be checkin back soon, and thanks again for the warm welcome!
