I just bought a Ranger about 4 months ago to use for work. It is a 97 XLT with 2.3L, 5 Speed and 2WD. The truck looked ok and ran good so I bought it, but what I did not figure on was how addicting this little truck has become!

The truck was dirty when I got it. I cleaned the interior very thoroughly, removed the pin stripping. Replaced the fuel filler neck, replaced the clutch.

I have been lurking for a month and even followed the instructions on here from the tech library and cleaned the MAF and the IAC. The truck will idle rough every once in a while (suddenly) the IAC and the MAF were pretty clean already, so unfortunately cleaning did not fix it. I will have to keep reading.

Thanks for all the great information I have gathered from this site for the last month.

Welcome to the station.

Welcome to the forums man! These trucks are definitely addicting. Glad you're able to benefit from the tech library. This is a great site, and there are a lot of very knowledgeable people on here, that are glad to help in time of need.

Thanks for the welcome.
I also wanted to add that I changed the bushings on the stick shift (thanks again to the tech library!)
Things I want to do is put 15" rims and tires on her, paint the grill to match the truck and reupholster the cent5er console lid.
I need to find a junker and get the seat belts out of it, my drivers side seat belt receiver is broken.
