New member, but have had my Ranger since June of last year.

Welcome to the station.

Welcome aboard, what do ya do in Wisconsin? well besides drink lol.:icon_cheers:

I work down by you.

Nice to see another ranger owning cheesehead.

Willkommen!

Nothing at the moment. Nope, I'm not much of a drinker. I got my Ranger in June with only 38K, it now has 45K and I have 1, possibly 2 failing Ball Joints.

It must have been a backroad rumrunner before you got it lol. Post up a pic of it when you can and again welcome to the ranger station.:icon_thumby:

On the contrary, I got it from the original owner who babied it. Btw, do you guys hate the 3.0 as much as it seems other Ranger forums do? I have a '97 Taurus w/ the pushrod 3.0 & 165K that has been DAMN good to me the 4 years that I've had it!

Yea she is sweet! nice find. I have never owned a 3.slow but have heard alot of complaints about them in truck applications. Tech section and search should give some answers too.

Just messin' with you man. I'm sure it's as reliable as anything else, just had a huge lack of power for me when I test drove them.

Welcome! Also another one from Wisconsin. I don't mind the power in the 3.0 but sure can be geared wrong at times. I got better mileage with my 4.0L 4x4 ext cab running 4.10 gears.
Dave

Yeah gearing does help. My Ranger is a boring old XL with the open 7.5 and 3.73 gears. True, the 3.0 doesn't have the gas mileage of the 4-cyl or the power of the 4.0 and YES, it has the fatal flaw of the Cam sync issue :( but it's a simple push-rod, all-iron engine that's very easy to work on!
